The last few years I’ve posted my annual goals as the first or second blog post of the year… and then done a public review of them at the end of the year. Here’s what my plans were for 2014.
To consolidate them somewhat, I planned to:
WRITE
• Snowflake Tiara (check)
• Sweetened with Honey (check)
PUBLISH
• Wild Mint Tea (check)
• Snowflake Tiara (check)
• Majai’s Fury (check)
• To Write a Story (nope)
• Advent Devotional (nope)
BLOG
• Redo my own website/blog (check)
• Launch Inspy Romance (check)
In May, I let you know about a career about face when my publisher canceled fiction contracts. I regained the rights to the first two Farm Fresh Romance novels. Instead of turning Sweetened with Honey in to my publisher in November… I published it.
Going indie changed the second half of 2014 for me. I decided that this was not the year to diversify into nonfiction but to focus on gaining momentum in fiction. It was a strategic decision, and one I’m glad I made.
Major goals added for 2014:
• Republish: Raspberries and Vinegar (A Farm Fresh Romance 1)
• Republish: Wild Mint Tea (A Farm Fresh Romance 2)
• Publish: Sweetened with Honey (A Farm Fresh Romance 3)
• Write: Dandelions for Dinner (A Farm Fresh Romance 4) (first draft should be complete in 2014)
• Write: Peppermint Kisses (A Farm Fresh Romance 2.5) (complete and available to newsletter subscribers)
Next Friday I’ll post my goals for 2015. Always entertaining a year later…
Did you make and post goals for 2014? How did you do at meeting them?
