21 Authors with Ten or More Romances on my Kindle

Ever wonder what your favorite author(s) reading habits are? Well, here goes! It may come as no surprise to you that the overwhelming majority of my reading, which averages two books a week, is contemporary romance novels. Most of them are by Christian authors writing distinctly Christian stories (stories with a faith arc as well as a romance arc) while some are merely “clean.”

But when I dug through the romance category on my Kindle, it quickly became apparent that some authors show up far more often than others. First, a few caveats. If I pulled this back to which authors have 7-8 on my Kindle, I’d probably have more like 50 authors represented! Some authors write in other genres, too, like historical or romantic suspense, which I didn’t count, since they’re not my primary reading interest.

Without further ado, here are the top 21 Christian romance authors I read, as evidenced by their presence on my Kindle! I’ve listed them alphabetically by last name.

• Carolyne Aarsen is a Canadian author with dozens of romance titles, some published by Love Inspired and some independently. She writes great cowboys! If you haven’t read her yet, I recommend starting with Homecoming.
• Leah Atwood is a prolific author with a lotta books on the market! I found her first through her Come to Me series, and I’d recommend you start there if you haven’t read her before. Come to Me Alive is a music star romance that’s great fun.
• Debra Clopton has dozens and dozens of titles, mostly cowboy romance, many traditionally published and many independently. I love her quick pace and sense of humor. Start with Her Texas Cowboy to get a taste of her style!
• JoAnn Durgin is best known for her Lewis Legacy series, but my favorite of hers is Heart’s Design.
• Ruth Logan Herne is another with multiple traditional titles and several indie titles. I enjoyed her (one) cowboy series (Double S Ranch) in audio, but a good place to start might be Welcome to Wishing Bridge.
• Liwen Y Ho writes some YA romance as well as contemporary romance. A Single Spark kicks off a series about five brothers that you might enjoy. I did!
• Denise Hunter is a prolific traditionally published author. I’ve listened to quite a few of her titles on audio. One of my favorites of hers is Married ‘Til Monday, which is a road trip reunion romance.
• Kimberly Rose Johnson – wow, hard to pick a favorite here! Kimberly writes romances and mysteries set in the Pacific Northwest, so I’m picking this island-based bed-and-breakfast story, Island Refuge, as a great entry point.
• Kimberly Rae Jordan is a Canadian author with quite a few books set in Canada and the USA. A Change of Heart is the first title in a long series featuring siblings in a blended family. It’s set in Winnipeg, and I really enjoyed them all.
• Autumn Macarthur is a British author who brings that international flair to her romances, though some are set in the USA, too. Calm & Bright is one of my favorites.
• Elizabeth Maddrey is one of a VERY few authors where I’ve read every single title she’s written. We’re now each other’s alpha readers, but I was already reading it all before then! Maybe get started with A Heart Restored, but honestly, you won’t go wrong no matter where you jump in.
• Lee Tobin McClain is an author who got her start indie and now writes mostly for traditional publishers. So hard to know where to tell you to get started! Maybe with a recent series starting with Low Country Hero.
• Carol Moncado is best known for writing contemporary royalty romance, although she does have less-royal series as well. A good place to get started if that’s your jam is Heart of a Prince.
• Lindi Peterson writes Georgia-based romances. A lot of them are novella length, but not all. One of my favorites is The Little Black Wedding Dress. Hoping to see more in that series at some point!
• Krista Phillips is another author where I’ve read and loved every single story she’s published! She has a great sense of humor that shines through. Jump in anywhere, but if you can’t decide, try Match Me if You Can.
• Toni Shiloh has invented a great little town called Maple Run, the setting for one of her series. Buying Love is a fun marriage-of-convenience story to kick that off!
• Melanie D Snitker is another auto-buy author for me, and you can’t go wrong jumping in anywhere. One of my favorites, though, is I Still Do, a reunion romance. All the feels!
• Ginger Solomon doesn’t write fluffy romance at all, so if you’re looking for harder themes, give her stories a try. One of my favorites is Learning from Experience.
• Jan Thompson writes multi-ethnic beach romance, mostly set in Georgia. You might enjoy Know You More, the first book in her Savannah Sweethearts series.
• Merrillee Whren has many titles traditionally published and also quite a few indie books. Check her out at A Match to Call Ours!
• Lacy Williams is a prolific author who writes cowboy romance, royal romance, historical romance (and probably more). While I enjoyed her Cowboy Fairytale series, maybe get started with Ten Dates…
• Marion Ueckermann is a South African author with many titles set there and in various parts of Europe. Again, it’s hard to pick a favorite and/or good entry point, but why not try this stand-alone story, Helsinki Sunrise? After all, how many of us have been to Finland?

Plus 4 Bonuses… I need to give a shout-out to several authors with fewer than ten titles out. Why mention them? Because I have read every book they’ve written (so far) and am eagerly waiting for more!
• Sally Bayless has six titles out in her Abundance series. Well, five and a pre-order. I’ve enjoyed every one so far. Maybe jump in with Love at Sunset Lake.
• Valerie M Bodden has five stories in the Hope Springs series set in Wisconsin. Get started with Not Until Forever (and thank me later).
• Janet W Ferguson writes novels set in the South. Get started with Falling for Grace!
• Jaycee Weaver has seven titles out, and I’ve enjoyed every one of them. You might want to jump in with What Could Be. Or anywhere, really!
