Dandelions for Dinner is a Word Award winner! The Word Guild is a Canadian organization for Christian authors that I’ve been a member of for several years. Two years ago Raspberries and Vinegar won for best contemporary romance published in the previous calendar year. Last year Sweetened with Honey was shortlisted but did not win. So this year I am very pleased with Dandelions for Dinner‘s winning status.
I was unable to attend the Write!Canada conference or the formal gala in Toronto in late June, but I’d sent along an acceptance speech (just in case!) with my friend Janet Sketchley. (If you enjoy romantic suspense, check out her excellent books!) She texted me to let me know I’d won, and later another friend sent me this photo she’d taken of the screen when this win was announced. It takes a few days for an official winners’ list to be released, so it was particularly nice to have friends present who knew I’d want to know right away!

While this exciting news was scheduled to be shared last week, the USA Today bestselling status trumped this, so I bumped the date back. Yeah, I know I could post more than once a week, but I didn’t!
