  1. I prefer limited third person, as well. Omniscient used to be so cool when I was a kid–the whole “I get to control the universe, and know what everyone is thinking” gig can be pretty appealing–but now I want to be part of the story, and that’s best achieved through limited third or in first person.

  2. There were certain omniscient elements to the first book, but I wouldn’t say it was entirely that way. Certainly the second book is much closer, especially with Jordam.

    What I do like is the fact that Jeffrey’s stepping outside of his characters a bit allows his own voice to show through, and I don’t mind that voice.

    This is an excellent issue to discuss!
