Last weekend we took two of the grandgirls camping for three nights, our first time without their parents! We might have done all three girls, but our little trailer really doesn’t have the space for that.
We had plenty of heat and sunshine (a bit too much for this gramma!) and went to the beach and the playground every day. The lake was very cold (no surprise for a Canadian mountain lake) which didn’t keep Rosalie and me from getting wet. It slowed down her big sister and grampa, though! Back at the campsite, the two girls covered every single rock (and we had plenty) with sidewalk chalk. They also went through a whole lot of sheets from a princess/fairy coloring pad I brought along!
One afternoon we went for a hike down to a waterfall. Grampa helped the girls over the logs and big rocks.
Watching Grampa get wood ready and start a fire was endlessly fascinating!
Cooking hot dogs…
S’mores… because everyone needs a sugar buzz at bedtime???
And big helpers took turns helping with cleanup after every meal. This gramma is so very blessed. Tired, but blessed!
