I’m sharing two videos with you today, on Good Friday. The first is just three-and-a-half minutes long. I’m not crazy about the artwork in it, and at first, I wasn’t too keen on the man’s voice, either, but I soon found the video compelling.
A commenter on YouTube offered this info about the narrator: “This is S. M. Lockridge (1913-2000). He was a prominent African-American preacher known for his dynamic, passionate, and fervent sermons.”

Ever heard of the Skit Guys? You might be challenged by this view of Good Friday. (9 minutes long.)
If it weren’t for Good Friday and Easter Sunday, I would have no stories to tell. Jesus’ death and resurrection are foundational to my novels. The characters grapple with their faith and the impact their faith has on their day-to-day lives, just like I do. Just like you do.

We watched the first video at our Good Friday service this morning. Very moving and powerful with the promise of Sunday coming. And singing His praises afterwards was heartfelt. The sermon was from Genesis 3. The promise of Jesus coming so soon after the fall is proof of Gods incredible love for His people. God never left us without the promise of salvation – and at such a cost. Hallelujah, thank you Lord.
