I’m a goals person, not a resolutions person. But if you read my 2013 in Review, you might wonder why I even bother! Priorities can change so much over the course of 12 months. I’d been laid off from a decade-plus job in late 2012, so I had very little idea of what a new year would look like. I certainly didn’t expect to sign a contract AND have a novel release, as there’s usually a much greater gap between those.

So what am I looking at for 2014?
January:
Tying up the loose ends in Snowflake Tiara.
Final edits on Wild Mint Tea.
February:
I’m part of a new blog that will launch in February. You’ll be hearing more about this in a few weeks!
Redoing my website. It’s just time, but I’m hoping to salvage my site header! I still love it.
March:
Launching Wild Mint Tea. So excited about this story! It might be my favorite of any I’ve written.
Revising Snowflake Tiara.
April:
Turning in Snowflake Tiara.
Beginning to write the final book in the Farm Fresh Romance series.
May:
Writing on Book 3.
June:
Writing on Book 3.
Vacation!
July:
Edits on Snowflake Tiara.
Writing on Book 3.
August:
Writing on Book 3.
September:
Launching Snowflake Tiara. My writing partner and I have some really cool plans for this. Can’t wait.
October:
Editing Book 3.
November:
Turning in Book 3.
December:
Collapse and take a break!
You may have noticed a change from what I’ve posted earlier about the final Farm Fresh Romance book. It had been scheduled to release in December 2014, but my publisher and I have talked it over and agreed to hold off until March 2015. This is a big help to me. As you can see, my year is pretty jammed as it is.
Of course, there are a few other things I’d like to accomplish in 2014, too, but whether or not they happen will depend on whether I stay ahead of the curve on what needs to be done. On my “really want to do” list:
- Indie publish my To Write a Story course (ebook and paperback).
- Indie publish Majai’s Fury, a fantasy novel I wrote a few years ago (ebook and paperback).
- Indie publish an Advent devotional I’ve been working on for over a year (ebook and paperback).
What does your 2014 look like? Do you set goals, make resolutions, or write lists? Put a link to your 2014 goals in comments.
Busy year you have planned! Good luck with everything.
For the self-publishing — if you have your work in the latest version of Scrivener for Mac, compiling to mobi, epub, and pdf formats is pretty simple. (Much more so than on Windows, from what Mar’s been saying.)
