The finale of the Farm Fresh Market Romance series is here! If you’ve been following along, you’ll know that this was originally intended as a six-book series, but that I decided to cut it short(er) to three books for various reasons.
Juni O’Neill waltzed into Book 2 without an invitation. She simply showed up — Arleigh’s sister — and I knew she planned to be the heroine of the third book. She studiously ignored the market minstrel, Zadok Shirkowski, right from the first time they crossed paths in A Green and Vibrant Hope.
When I realized they had a history, my interest was piqued! I know how bizarre this sounds to non-writers, but this really is the way characters introduce themselves to me. That they’d been on a blind date that ended poorly was a quick and easy decision, but I spent a long while mulling over exactly how that date had gone sour. I asked my Facebook reader group for ideas, and there were some very fun ones! But you’ll need to read the story to find out which idea best fit the circumstances.
I haven’t written too many teen characters over the years, but Zadok’s siblings (Quincey, 19, and Xavier, 16) were so much fun. There’s a lot of great banter, if I do say so myself, but it’s not all fluff. The interactions — the whole story — had a great deal of depth and heart.
About A Great and Glorious Gift
She walked out on their blind date four years ago.
Why should she give him a second chance now?
Romance is great for other people, but not for Juni O’Neill. Wouldn’t anyone have trust issues if they had her father? Her current teaching job in Galena Landing is temp, and she’s dabbling in creating and selling crafts at the farmers market to fill her time. If only her shared booth wasn’t directly across from the musician’s booth – the guy she walked away from on a blind date back in college.
Zadok Shirkowski accepted custody of his younger siblings when their parents died. Now he’s operating a tire shop in northern Idaho to make ends meet. The only part of his life he loves, besides his siblings, is leading worship on Sundays and performing at the farmers market. But when his teen brother quits caring about school, Zadok is forced to enlist the help of one of the teachers, who just so happens to be someone he’d once hoped never to see again.
And she’s still not willing to look him in the eye.
A Great and Glorious Gift is for sale as an ebook on Amazon and available to borrow on Kindle Unlimited. The paperback is available on Amazon and many other retailers. There are currently no plans for an audiobook.
