I’m delighted to announce the final volume in the Christmas in Montana Romance series!
I’ve been living (fictitiously, of course) in Helena, Montana, since the summer of 2013. In the fall of 2014, Angela Breidenbach and I released a two-in-one, Snowflake Tiara, which contained her historic novel, The Debutante Queen, set in 1889, and my contemporary novel, More than a Tiara. We disbanded the e-book version of the duo last year, but the paperback is still available. I rereleased More Than a Tiara as a solo in October, 2016, and the second book, Other Than a Halo in November, 2016. Finally we have the long-awaited third story, Better Than a Crown. **throws confetti**
Even though I introduced Heather Francis briefly in Other Than a Halo, I had no idea at the time what her story would entail. I got to know Heather in April when I wrote quite a few words that I eventually abandoned as not being a viable story for the length and theme. Other projects (writing Rooted in Love for Arcadia Valley Romance) took precedence for a while, but in July I got back in the trenches with Heather and Levi. Even then, it was hard going until I made some enlightening discoveries about both their pasts and their future. Suddenly, things clicked into place and the words began to fly.
WHEW. I love when that happens.
Always a princess, never the queen.
As a runner-up in 27 competitions, Heather Francis tries to teach young contestants there’s more to pageants than winning, even though her mother never got that memo. It’s hard enough to focus and ignore the inner voice calling her a fraud without being attracted to Grizzly Gulch Resort’s brooding temporary chef.
Levi Esteban’s temp job as chef in Helena, Montana, and caregiver for his niece, Shelby, would be perfect if it weren’t for the Miss Snowflake Christmas festivities at the resort. Levi’s been against pageantry all his life and isn’t about to change his stance, regardless of his fascination with Shelby’s coach.
When Shelby’s parents’ trip is extended, Levi and Heather must join forces to care for her and pull off the pageant. Is there something better than a crown in their future?
Better Than a Crown is available for pre-order on Kindle, Kobo, Nook, and iBooks. Coming soon in paperback and on Christian Book Distributors and Google Play.
