Grandma’s Happy Place
The month of May is the setting for both Mother’s Day and my birthday. This year, I hit the Big Six-Oh, and that called for a bit of a celebration! My daughter offered a quick photo shoot with my grandgirls and me, and I was happy to take her up on the offer! And the…

Pushing for words
My main excitement these days is the romance rewrite, so there’s not a lot of variety in my life. There isn’t room for it when I’m pushing for 3000 words a day around customers, sales dudes, and freight trucks. I admire folks who can work all day and still put out a meaningful set of…

L is for Legacy
I’m in the middle of the Legacy Sandwich. I remember my grandparents, and I have grandchildren. What has been passed on to me? What am I passing on to the little girls in my life? It’s not hard to see common threads. My grandparents (on both sides) were farmers. My parents farmed until I was…

Pick a Wedding Cake Contest!
WooHoo!!! I’m thrilled to see my daughter Hanna‘s gorgeous artwork get recognition and exposure by my good friend Sandie Bricker and the wonderful folks at her publishing house, Abingdon. How so, you say? Well, Sandie commissioned Hanna to create six wedding cakes for her character, Emma Rae, who (shhh–spoiler!!) will be getting married (finally!) in…

What’s new in my little world?
Most of my usual writing time in the past week has been taken up by a novel crit, and I’m not done yet. This one is faster to do than most I’ve done, because the writer isn’t look for a line by line edit, but more of an over all critique. Even that, though, doesn’t…

Wow! What a great job. She is talented.
Fantanstic job! I’ll show them to my daughter; I’m sure that’s something she’d enjoy!
Those are really cute!
A lot of what my daughter paints (oils and digital) is fantasy; her dream is to design book covers. She works hard on it, but this is the first year she’s done a lot of windows in her town. Several other contracts, too, and she could have had more but she does work a 40 hour a week job without the windows.
Beautiful work!
Gorgeous!
Maybe you’ll both be lucky and some day, she’ll do a cover for one of your books.
