Today we’re bound for Alaska via Seattle and Norwegian Cruise Lines! We’ve never done anything like this before and are really looking forward to the 7-day cruise aboard the Norwegian Star:
We board on Saturday and cruise the Inside Passage Sunday, arriving at Ketchikan on Monday. Tuesday we’re due to explore Juneau and Sawyer Bay:
Wednesday we’ll be in Skagway, taking the White Pass & Yukon Railway excursion:
Thursday is the day to explore Prince Rupert, BC, the clincher for us taking this cruise as this is where my husband was raised. He hasn’t been back since 1976, and is greatly looking forward to showing me around PR as well as the village of Port Edward, where he lived. He worked at North Pacific Cannery one summer:
Friday we’ll be southward bound at sea again, then disembarking on Saturday the 26th, home the 27th. We’re thankful our kids are home to take care of the cows, cats, and rambunctious dog while we’re away!
I’ve got blog posts scheduled to go up while we’re away, but comments may not automatically go up. I’ve been fiddling with the Intense Debate plug-in trying to allow pre-moderated posters to post automatically, but I’m not sure I’ve got it right. So if your comments don’t show up, I’m sorry–and will moderate if/when I get online during our times in port.
Here’s what to expect over the next while:
Monday (19): Guest Post by Anna Clark, author of Green, American Style
Wednesday (21): CSFF tour for Matt Mikalatos’ book: Imaginary Jesus
Friday (23): Marketing contest for Imaginary Jesus
Monday (26): Guest Post by Sharon Cousins, Part 1 on Solar Cooking

I think Val was looking at July when she posted those dates on her guests appearances, so just translate to June…. Yes, do have a great trip, Val!
