How does somebody search for their bliss? Indie Moore finds daily guidance in her horoscope, just as her flower child mother, Harmony (once mundanely named Ann), taught her. At 21, Indie needs to find her own path. In her words: “I’m desperate to get out of Rabbit Hole, Kansas, with its tornadoes, dusty roads, and, of course, my free spirit mother flitting from store to store–all three of them.”
Why Florida? Well, Indie is a Pisces–water sign, fish symbol. And her horoscope told her to follow her sign. Where else could it mean? It seems logical to her!
The reader follows Indie’s misadventures as she runs out of gas, freaks out over cows, and eventually arrives in Hobe Sound, Florida, where she finds out that bliss is expensive. Soon she finds herself sharing a trailer with her new friend and part-time boss, Ellie, while searching for another job or two. Indie also meets the cutest guy in town and spends a fair bit of time trying to avoid him lest she trip over him (again) or snag him (again) (and not the kind of snag you’re thinking!).
Indie finds herself meeting–and actually liking–some Christians. How is their dependence on daily Bible reading for guidance any different than her horoscopes? When her mother shows up in Hobe Sound, Indie has a few things to figure out before she can truly find her bliss.
I purchased the Kindle version of this book and found myself pulled straight into Indie’s humorous adventures. Kudos to Jenness Walker and Tracy Bowen for a wonderful tale! Check back on Friday for an interview with both authors–a fun time you won’t want to miss.
