Randi Davis is a truck driver along with her friend, Jess Price. Jess falls victim to a drive-by shooting in a truck stop, leaving Randi to drive short local jaunts until her partner is back on her feet.
Matthew Carter’s dream is to get experience as a trucker and hold rallies to share Jesus with his workmates. After Jess’s injury, he’s assigned to ride with Randi and train with her. Problem is that Randi has no use for the soft-spoken pastor. She wants to keep her tough-girl persona intact, but it’s hard. Not only has she gained custody of her young niece to her brother’s incarceration–and left the niece with the girl’s grandmother–but the trucker shootings aren’t over.
What will it take for Randi to listen to her heart?
If you like contemporary western romantic tales with a touch of suspense, you might enjoy the novella Hearts on the Road, the second of three stories in Wyoming Weddings. I’m in the midst of first-draft novel writing these days and don’t have as much time to devote to reading as usual. Novellas are the perfect length for me right now!
Diana Lesire Brandmeyer lives in Southern Illinois where the corn grows at a rapid rate behind her home. She’s married and has three grown sons all on their own now, each of them bringing someone special to join the family. Yay! Daughter-in-laws!
She writes contemporary and historical romances and some nonfiction.
Diana loves having pets. Right now there are two cats in the house (Wendell and Oliver) and an occasional granddog named Rusty.
