Ever forget something really important? All of us have–or suspect we have–but few of us can match Seth Kincaid. He forgot he was married. That’s what childhood trauma and the Civil War did to him. Now that he’s begun to remember, he’d like to keep his wife from killing him.
If you’ve been reading the Kincaid Bride series, you’ll be eager to read the final book about the third brother, Seth. From a veritable crazy person in the first book to a man with some glimmers of sanity in the second, the author has carefully drafted a character that we’ve begun to feel for, and finally brings Seth into his own story with the surprise revelation that not only is Seth married, but he’s the daddy of a precocious baby boy. He kind of likes both ideas, but Callie isn’t set on making it easy for him to take his place. What if he forgets her again? What if he hasn’t been healed of the traumas in his life?
Because not all the trauma is over. Someone is still stalking the Kincaid family. Someone still wants the brothers dead. And someone (else) has a claim on all Rafe, Ethan, and Seth have built since their parents’ deaths.
If you think this is a serious sounding book, you’re wrong. Sure, it has some serious themes, but shot all the way through it like salt in a stew is fast-paced action laced with author Mary Connealy’s sparkling humor. While you don’t have to have read the other books in this series, I can guarantee you’ll want to.
Mary Connealy writes romantic comedy with cowboys. She wrote for ten years, with a total of twenty completed books, before she got published. She had just enough encouragement through those ten long years to keep her going. Since 2007, she’s had more than ten novels published as well as a handful of novellas. She lives in Nebraska, where she teaches GED.
