Fantasy Tour–still at it!
It looks to me like men and woman with capes and swords are taking over bookstores along the east coast. And it looks to me like said men and woman are having a great deal of fun while they’re at it! Sigh. It looks like not only are they having fun, but they’re selling a…

Simple Smile 1
This week’s simple smile is my granddaughters. My daughter took this photo of her two girls (on the right) and her niece, my three granddaughters, a couple of weeks ago. I love how the two little ones (17 months and 23 months) are enjoying each other’s company! The oldest one, SweetPea (almost 4), was completely…

Yesterday my husband and I went up into the mountains to cut our Christmas tree. Our son, daughter-in-law, and 2.5 year-old granddaughter joined us. After finding two “perfect” trees, we stopped off at a campsite where Grandpa started a little fire so we could roast hot dogs. Definitely the kind of day memories are made…

Oh my gosh! I remember beta reading parts of this and loving it! Yeah!
SOO close to pushing the publish button on this! But apparently I didn’t allow enough time for ISBNs to get to me, so that’s my current delay.
Oh, I don’t think I’ve seen this version of the cover. Very nice :).
Yay! I’m very happy with it myself. 🙂
It’s a gorgeous cover — but I thought his face was scarred?
Ah, you remember the story from the old days, too! His face is scarred with spiral designs on each cheek, which looks like a shadow here. It is (obviously) impossible to see clearly at this resolution, but will be visible on the paperback. The problem of making him so much smaller and further back. Hanna and I discussed his scars at length and decided, with the layout, that a “nod” to the scars was all we could really do.
Also, going on the cover just brings the people in, scarification might turn some people off but it works within context of the story :).
Right. They’re a major part of the story, of course, and the reader will get at least an idea why in the “Look Inside” feature.
