Pygmy owl! We actually had a dusting of snow, so Jim and I went for a walk at our nearby wildlife center. This little guy (all of about seven inches tall) got our attention—and eventually we got his, as well.

There has been quite a few of these little owls seen lately. I was driving by the police station the other day and saw one on the power line. See them quite often on the power lines coming into town from west creston.
