Late Friday evening I bumped Joy Comes in the Morning Version 7.5 out to the four gals who promised me a full emergency crit. One already reports being half done (mind boggling), another says she is one third through. I just can’t say a big enough THANK YOU to you all for being such awesome friends. I owe you all big time.
In a few days I’ll know how much work I have cut out for me in the next stage. Meanwhile, I’m busy prepping up a query letter. It appears that my previous version of a query letter was for the previous version of the book, and it isn’t accurate any more. Nor is it all that punchy. (The book OR the query!) Yes, the full manuscript has been requested by an acquisitions editor and an agent, but I’m thinking this might be a good opportunity to cast my queries out a little farther, agent-wise. Can’t hurt, at any rate.
Strangely, I’ve been reading a lot lately. I rarely read when I’m first drafting. It’s kind of like holding my breath. Then when I’m done the draft I need to suck in massive numbers of novels just to survive. Maybe my brain really did look on the last month as a rewrite, then, rather than a first draft? Even though nearly every sentence was written ‘from scratch?’
That means I have a few more novel reviews and guest blog posts to put up over the next few weeks. I hope you’re enjoying all the musings on the muse as much as I am.
I’ve also joined up with a large group of international Christian fiction writers., where we’ll be talking up stories that are placed in non-American settings. You’ll be hearing a lot more about that, starting next week. So there’s plenty coming up In My Little World. Stay tuned!

I got your comment on my blog 🙂 And yes I’m definitely interested in joining that group on Facebook. I’m always looking for fiction set in other parts of the world besides Europe and America. Such a big world with a variety of different cultures yet not many books that venture beyond the Western view. That needs to change! 🙂
