It’s been quite a year, and I’m delighted to say that as of noon today, I have seventeen and a half days off work. First off, a weekend trip to central Alberta for a family wedding–a quick trip because Jim has to be back at work Monday morning, even if I don’t! It’s wonderful having Joel and Jen on the farm, meaning that there’s someone to do the chores for these occasional getaways. (Okay, I appreciate them for other reasons, too, but today, that’s a big one.) We may even get the chance to top off our Christmas shopping, though in reality it’s pretty much done.
I’m looking forward to SweetPea’s first Christmas, and so honored to share that special day with her parents. Honored to have them here for a whole week, starting on the 23rd. I’m so thankful for that baby girl and the giggles and snuggles she’s brought into our life.
Before they get here, I’ve got a bit of decorating, crafting, and baking yet to do. Nothing too crazy. I might even have time to fill in some more plot cards for the novel I plan to start in January.
Mostly? I’m trying to actually relax. Isn’t that what a vacation is for?

Sounds like a wonderful break. Do take some time to take it easy.
