January was a very busy work month for me. I wrote two novellas, Secretly Yours (already edited and released!) and Pinky Promise, which releases in April. I also went through Dandelions for Dinner (the 4th Farm Fresh Romance) with the help of several beta readers and got it sent to my editor for a March release.
All of that meant that when my daughter and her family arrived on Monday for a five-day visit, I was ready to take a few days off and enjoy my grandgirls! They work hard and play hard, too!
The three of them had such a good time every day. Here they are, drawing and coloring away.
The two oldest both have February birthdays, turning five and three. This morning was their birthday party (hence why this blog post is late going up!) Four of their second cousins came over as well, but apparently I only got photos of the girls. Oops. They all had a great time playing in the cardboard box castle with their personally decorated crowns.
And, of course, there was birthday cake!
Now they have gone home and the house is quiet once more. Judging by the amount of leftovers in the fridge, the grandparents aren’t going to have to worry about what to eat for a few days!
The grandma’s brain is transitioning back into the author’s brain. The cover for Dandelions for Dinner is nearly complete, and soon the final edited version will be returned to me, ready to check through again before formatting for e-book and paperback versions. It will be up for pre-order in 2-3 weeks. The summer Riverbend novella is pushing at my brain, wanting to come out, and the not-very-patient Plum Upside Down (5th Farm Fresh Romance) is crowding behind it reminding me that it, too, wants a summer day in the sun.
So… I’ve worked hard and played hard. Back to work I go!
